The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft PowerPoint for the Macintosh, version 3.0

The Microsoft PowerPoint Shared Code Manager is available on the
Microsoft Download Service (MSDL), a download bulletin board service
(BBS) that contains Application Notes, drivers, utilities, and other
resources. The MSDL is accessible 22.5 hours a day, 7 days a week.
It is not accessible between 1:00 A.M. and 2:30 A.M. Pacific time.
The Macintosh models that need the newer Shared Code Manager include
the following:

 - PowerBook 160
 - PowerBook 180
 - PowerBook Duo 210
 - PowerBook Duo 230
 - Macintosh IIvx

   1200, n, 8, 1

To locate the Translator on the MSDL, follow these instructions:

1. Connect to the MSDL.
2. Choose F for File Index.
3. Choose 3 for PowerPoint, Publisher, and Project.
4. Choose 3 for PowerPoint for the Macintosh.
5. Choose D to download.
6. You will be prompted to enter the filename you want to download. Type
   SHARED.SEA.
7. You will be prompted to set up your machine to receive the file.
   When you do so, the file will download to your computer.

Most of the files on the MSDL are compressed self-extracting archive
files. Run the file once it has been downloaded and it will extract
itself into a usable file(s).
