Introduction
------------

The disk provided with this Application Note contains PABCHK.DLL and
PABLIST.DLL, Personal Address Book (PAB) utilities for versions 3.0b
and 3.2 of Microsoft Mail for Windows. You can use these utilities to
eliminate duplicate PAB entries and invalid addresses, and to print
the contents of the PAB to a text file.

To use the PAB Check utility (PABCHK.DLL) after you have installed it,
choose PAB Check from the Mail menu. A report on its findings will be
placed in your Inbox. The PAB Check utility does not make any changes
to your PAB.

To use the PAB List utility (PABLIST.DLL) after you have installed it,
choose PAB List from the Mail menu. A list of your PAB entries will be
placed in your Windows directory with the name PABLIST.LOG. To view
the log, open it in Notepad.

To Install the PABCHK.DLL and PABLIST.DLL Files
-----------------------------------------------

1. Insert the enclosed WA0727 disk in your floppy disk drive.

2. At the MS-DOS command prompt, type the following and press ENTER

      copy <drive>:\*.dll <destination>

where <drive> is the floppy disk drive containing the WA0727 disk
and <destination> is the drive and directory where your MSMAIL.EXE
file currently resides. For example, if your MSMAIL.EXE file is
located in the MSMAIL directory on drive C and the WA0727 disk is
in drive A, type the following command:

      copy a:\*.dll c:\msmail

A message will be displayed stating: 2 file(s) copied. This
indicates that your PABCHK.DLL and PABLIST.DLL files have been
   successfully copied.

3. Add the following lines to the [Custom Commands] section of your
MSMAIL.INI file, which is located in your Windows directory. (NOTE:
Each statement should be on one line.)

      PBX=3.0;Mail;;13
