SYMPTOM
=======

With a picture or object selected, some Line formats in the Border dialog
box are dimmed (not available for selection).

The Dotted, Hairline, and Double Line formats cannot be applied directly to
a graphic or object using the Format Border dialog box. Any of the other
border line formats can be applied to a graphic or object.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior is by design. In Word, you can border graphics, paragraphs,
or cells based on the selection or the insertion point's location, all with
the same interface. Therefore, there are three separate commands: Border,
Paragraph Borders, and Cell Borders. With each command only certain types
of Line formats are available.

STATUS
======

This feature is under review and will be considered for inclusion in a
future release.

WORKAROUND
==========

Apply a double border to the paragraph where the graphic or object is to be
located, and adjust the left and/or right indents so that the border is
flush with the sides of the graphic.
