SYMPTOM
=======
 
The last document opened during your previous Word session automatically
opens when you start Word.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
This occurs when Super Boomerang, a NOW Software utility, is installed on
your Macintosh.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
To turn off Super Boomerang s Open Files option (in Super Boomerang version
4.0.1), follow these steps:
 
1. From the Apple menu, select Control Panels and open the Super Boomerang
   control panel.
 
2. Choose the Preferences button.
 
3. Clear the "Open files you were using (Re-Launch)  check box and choose
   OK.
 
When you now start Word, an untitled document should appear.
