SUMMARY
=======

When you are using a 24-hour calendar, and you enter a task by typing only
the time in the Scheduled Start and Scheduled Finish fields, the duration
of the task will be calculated incorrectly.

NOTE: This problem does not occur in later versions of Microsoft Project.

WORKAROUNDS
===========

To work around this problem, enter the duration and then enter the time in
Scheduled Start. Scheduled Finish will be calculated and the duration will
be correct.

NOTE: If the 24-hour period does not have to equal 1 day, then you can
change the Default Hours/Days in the Preferences dialog box (from the
Options menu, choose Preferences) to 8 hours. This change also allows the
duration to calculate correctly.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
----------------------------

1. From the File menu, choose New.

2. Choose Base Calendars from the Options menu, and modify the Standard
   Calendar for 24 hours.

3. From the Options menu, choose Preferences.

4. Set the Default Duration Units to Hours.

5. Use the Default Date Format 1/31/92 12:33pm. (Any of the date
   formats may be used with the same result.)

5. Set the Default Hours/Days to 24:00, and choose OK.

6. On a blank task, click in the Scheduled Start Field, and type 8:00am.

A duration of 49h is calculated even though the expected calculation is 1h.
