SUMMARY

Using the Replace command on the Edit menu in Word 6.0 for Windows, you can
replace "smart quotes" (curly quotation marks) with straight quotation
marks and smart apostrophes (') with straight apostrophes. Use the
following techniques to change straight quotation marks to smart quotes or
vice versa.
 
Changing Smart Quotes to Straight Quotation Marks
=================================================
 
1. From the Tools menu, choose AutoCorrect.
 
2. Clear the "Change Straight Quotes to Smart Quotes" check box
   and choose OK.
 
3. From the Edit menu, choose Replace.
 
4. In the Find What and Replace With boxes, type a quotation mark
   or apostrophe character (" or ').
 
5. Choose the Find Next or Replace All button.
 
Word locates quotation mark characters (smart and straight) and replaces
them with straight quotation marks.
 
Changing Straight Quotation Marks to Curly Quotes
=================================================
 
1. From the Tools menu, choose AutoCorrect.
