SYMPTOMS
========

When print merging, Word fails to automatically find the data document,
even though the DATA statement is correct. In addition, the data document
may not appear in the print merge Open File dialog box, even when the
dialog box shows the contents of the correct folder.

CAUSE
=====

This problem may occur when the data and main documents are not stored in
the same folder, the data document is closed, and the DATA statement
includes the path for the data document.

WORKAROUNDS
===========

Method 1: Remove the path from the DATA statement.

Method 2: Issue the print merge command while the data and main documents
          are open.

Method 3: Place the main and data documents in the same folder.

MORE INFORMATION
================

An example of a DATA statement with a path is:

   <<DATA HardDisk:Documents:DataDocument>>

The same data statement without a path would look like:

   <<DATA DataDocument>>
