The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows, versions 4.0, 4.0a and 4.0c

SUMMARY

Depending on what options you select, the installation of PowerPoint for Windows may not require you to use all of the provided disks. To reduce the amount of times you have to insert disks during setup, the files are organized on the disks so that during a Typical or Laptop (Minimum) installation, the fewest possible disks are required.

The following table lists which disks are used and which disks are not used for the different releases of PowerPoint for both the Typical and Laptop (Minimum) installations of PowerPoint. The table assumes a new Windows installation with none of the shared files installed from other applications.

MORE INFORMATION

The default Setup option is Typical; however, you may mistakenly assume that a Typical installation will install all of the program files and use all of the disks.
