SYMPTOMS
========

If you convert a Harvard Graphics for MS-DOS chart file into a Microsoft
PowerPoint for Windows slide, the value axis may not be displayed even
though the Microsoft Graph 5.0 object option to display the axis is turned
on.

This is because the option to display tick labels for the affected value
axis is not translated correctly.

RESOLUTION
==========

To correct this problem, do the following:

1. Activate the Microsoft Graph 5.0 object by double-clicking it.

2. Select the affected axis and choose the Selected Axis command from
   the Format menu, or simply double-click the affected axis.

3. In the Format Axis dialog box, switch to the Patterns tab.

4. Select the Next To Axis option for Tick-Mark Labels and choose OK.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with the Harvard Graphics
translator that is provided with PowerPoint versions 4.0 and 4.0a for
Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information
here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
