SUMMARY
=======

In Microsoft Project, when you apply a combination view to your project and
both of the views use a timescale, if you display any of the following
gridlines in the view in the upper pane, they are also displayed in the
view in the lower pane:

   Title Horizontal
   Title Vertical
   Project Start
   Project Finish

In addition, if you remove these gridlines in the view in the upper pane,
they are not displayed in the lower pane.

MORE INFORMATION
================

For example, if you display a combination view with the Gantt Chart view in
the upper pane, and the Resource Graph view in the lower pane, if you
display the Project Start gridline in the Gantt Chart view, the Project
Start gridline is displayed in the Resource Graph view.

If you do not display the Project Start gridline in the Gantt Chart
view, the Project Start gridline does not display in the Resource
Graph view. You can format the gridlines for different color and type
in each view, but the display is determined by the view in the upper
pane.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
---------------------------

1. In a new project, in the Gantt Chart view, enter a task Task1. In the
Duration column for Task1, enter 4d.

2. Select Task1 and choose the Resource Assignment button from the Standard
toolbar. In the Name column, type "Nancy" (without the quotation marks)
and press ENTER. Choose the Assign button and then choose the Close
   button.

3. From the Format menu, choose Gridlines. From the Line To Change list,
select Project Start. From the Type list, select the solid line. From
the Colors list, select Red. From the Line To Change list, select
Project Finish. From the Type list, select the solid line. From the
Colors list, select Red. Choose OK.

4. From the Window menu, choose split. Select the Resource Graph view in
the lower pane, and choose Resource Graph from the View menu.

Note that the Project Start and Project Finish gridlines are displayed in
the Resource Graph view.

To display the gridlines more visibly in the Resource Graph view,
choose Gridlines from the Format menu. From the Line To Change list,
select Project Start. From the Colors list, select Red. From the Line
To Change list, select Project Finish. From the Colors list, select
Red. Choose OK.

5. Select the Gantt Chart view in the upper pane, and choose Gridlines from
the Format menu. From the Line To Change list, select Project Start.
From the Type list, select the first option (no line). From the Line To
Change list, select Project Finish. From the Type list, select the first
   option (no line). Choose OK.

Note that the project start and project finish gridlines are no
longer displayed in the Gantt Chart view in the upper pane OR in the
Resource Graph view in the lower pane.
