SUMMARY
=======

In Microsoft Project, the PlanningWizard may not appear when you are
working with multiple projects in a visually merged window. If you perform
an action that causes an error message, you receive the standard error
message that appears when you do not have the PlanningWizard options
selected, instead of the appropriate PlanningWizard.

MORE INFORMATION
================

When you have the PlanningWizard check boxes selected on the General tab of
the Options dialog box, a PlanningWizard dialog box may be displayed while
you are editing your project to point out possible problems in your
schedule and prompt you to clarify ambiguous actions. However, when you
select the PlanningWizard check boxes in the Options dialog box, and you
edit a visually merged window, you do not receive the PlanningWizard dialog
box.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
---------------------------

1. In a new project, choose Options from the Tools menu. Select the General
   tab, and under Planning Wizard, select the Advice From PlanningWizard
   and Advice About Errors check boxes. Choose OK.

2. Enter two tasks, Task1 and Task2 respectively. Select Task2, and choose
   Task Information from the Insert menu. Select the Advanced tab, and from
   the Type list, select Must Start On. Choose OK.

3. From the File menu, choose New. Enter one task, Task3.

4. From the Window menu, choose New Window. From the Projects list, select
   Project1, press and hold the CTRL key and select Project2. Choose OK.

5. In the visually merged window, select Task2. From the Insert menu,
   choose Task Information. Select the Predecessors tab. In the Task Name
   column, type "Task1" (without the quotation marks) and press ENTER.
   Choose OK.

The following error message appears:

   Late date before scheduled date in task1 of 'Project1'...

You do not receive the PlanningWizard dialog box for this action even
though the Advice About Errors check box is selected.
