 - Microsoft Project for Windows, version 4.0

SUMMARY
=======

If you open a file in Microsoft Excel that contains linked information from
a Microsoft Project file, and you choose to re-establish the link, the
default Project1 window does not appear when you start Microsoft Project.

This behavior does not occur when you link information from Microsoft
Project in a Microsoft Word document.

MORE INFORMATION
================

In Microsoft Project version 3.0, when you link information from a project
file to a file in Microsoft Excel, the project file must be open in order
for you to re-establish or update the link. In Microsoft Project version
4.0, however, a linked project file does not have to be open to re-
establish or update a link in Microsoft Excel. However, when you update or
re-establish a link to a Microsoft Project 4.0 file, and you then start
Microsoft Project, no default Project1 window is displayed.

NOTE: This behavior does not occur with information linked as a Microsoft
Project 4.0 project object or picture to a file in Microsoft Excel versions
3.0, 3.0a, 4.0 or 4.0a.
