SYMPTOMS
========
If you change the default printer in the Windows Control Panel,
Bookshelf may retain the printer setting it had initially (the default
printer setting when Bookshelf was installed or the printer setting
last selected in Bookshelf). This occurs because Bookshelf initially
sets itself to use the Default Printer, but it sets itself to use it as
Specific Printer instead. Thus, when you later designate a different
printer as the Default Printer, Bookshelf does not pick up on this change.
For example, if the Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet II is your default
printer, Bookshelf sets itself to print to the HP LaserJet II as
Specific Printer. Then, if you later designate a different printer as
your Default Printer, Bookshelf remains set to print to the HP
LaserJet II and does not adopt your new printer settings.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Bookshelf 1994. We are
researching this problem and will post new information here in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
