SUMMARY
=======

When opening a presentation in PowerPoint for Windows, you will get
a message that links are being updated, if the presentation contains
linked objects. The presentation will then reflect the most current
changes to the supporting files.

If you open that same presentation in the PowerPoint Viewer, the links
are not updated. If there have been changes to the supporting files
since the last time the presentation was opened and saved from PowerPoint,
those changes are not reflected when viewing the presentation using the
PowerPoint Viewer.

This is by design, since typically PowerPoint Viewer is used to display
a presentation on a computer other than the one used to create the
presentation and the supporting linked documents are generally
unavailable.
