SYMPTOMS
========

In Microsoft Project, when you press CTRL+LEFT ARROW (COMMAND+LEFT ARROW
on Macintosh) to select the first field in a row when you are in the Add
To Selection mode, the originally selected cells are no longer selected.

This same behavior occurs with CTRL+RIGHT ARROW, CTRL+UP ARROW, and
CTRL+DOWN ARROW.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft
products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this
problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION
================

In Microsoft Project, when you use the Add To Selection mode, (when
you press SHIFT+F8), ADD is displayed on the right side of the status
bar. In this mode, you can select multiple groups of fields with the
keyboard, using the arrow keys to move to another group of fields
without losing the original selection. However, if you press the CTRL
key and any of the direction arrows to move to another field in this
mode, the original selection is lost.

NOTE: In Microsoft Excel, when you use the CTRL key with the arrow
keys, the original selection is not lost.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
---------------------------

1. In a new project, choose Gantt Chart from the View menu.

2. In row 5, select the Scheduled Start field.

3. Press SHIFT+F8 to enter Add To Selection mode.

4. Press CTRL+LEFT ARROW to select the first field in row 5.

The first field in row 5 is selected, however the Scheduled Start
field in row 5 is no longer selected.
