SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you press CONTROL+SHIFT+LEFT ARROW (or RIGHT ARROW) to extend a
selection, the selection will stick to a row or column heading.
 
The expected behavior is that the selection will pivot around the
originally selected cell.
 
STATUS
======
 
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Problem in Project for Windows version 4.0
-------------------------------------------------------------
 
1. From the View menu, choose More Views, select the Task Sheet view, and
   choose Apply.
 
2. In the Task Sheet, enter five new tasks.
 
3. Select the Start field for task 5.
 
4. To activate extend mode, press the F8 key (the word "EXT" will appear in
   the status bar.) Then, press CONTROL+SHIFT+LEFT ARROW.
 
5. Press CONTROL+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW.
 
The entire row is selected. The expected result is that the selection is
goes from the Start field to the Resource Names field.
 
NOTE: This procedure works correctly if you reverse steps 4 and 5. This is
also a problem if "up" replaces left arrow in step 4 and "down" replaces
right arrow in step 5.
