SYMPTOMS
========
 
If you select the "Use Smart Cut and Paste" option, Word will exhibit the
following behavior:
 
 - When you turn on Revision Marks and delete a word, Word marks the word
   as revised but also marks the space following the word as revised.
 
 - If you copy and paste text containing a period and two spaces to a new
   area of the document, the two spaces will change to one space.
 
(Note: To locate the "Use Smart Cut and Paste" option, choose Options from
the Tools menu, and select the Edit tab.)
 
CAUSE
=====
 
This behavior is by design. To change this behavior, do the following:
 
1. From the Tools menu, choose Options.
2. Select the Edit tab.
3. Clear the "Use Smart Cut and Paste" check box.
