SUMMARY
=======

Each time a Microsoft Project 3.0 View file is opened in Microsoft Project
4.0, a copy of the toolbar will be merged into the GLOBAL.MPT file. Because
Project 4.0 has no way of knowing that the toolbar may already exist from
an earlier merge, it will always add it to the GLOBAL.MPT. This automatic
merging may result in duplicate Microsoft Project 3.0 toolbars.

This behavior is by design of Microsoft Project.

WORKAROUND
==========

To work around this behavior, do the following to remove the unwanted
toolbar:

1. From the View menu, choose Toolbars.

2. Select toolbar<n> (where <n> is a number sequentially assigned to
   each toolbar that you merge or add) that corresponds to the toolbar to
   delete, and choose the Delete button.

NOTE: The delete button will not be available if a standard toolbar is
highlighted.

CAUTION: Make sure you have the correct toolbar selected before you choose
the Delete button; any tool button you add or merge from a .MPV file will
have a name of toolbar<n>.
