SUMMARY
=======

In Microsoft Project, you can apply direct text formatting to the selected
cells in a table by choosing Font from the Format menu. If you select an
entire column (by clicking the column header for example) and apply direct
text formatting, the formatting change will affect all cells in that column
(including blank cells and cells that are hidden by the current filter).

When you add new records to the table, these new records inherit the text
formatting in that column.

If you want to apply direct text formatting to a column for filtered
records only, apply the filter, and then select only the cells you want,
(rather than selecting the entire column).

MORE INFORMATION
================

This behavior is different from other operations, such as direct bar
formatting (choose Bar from the Format menu) and changes made in the
Multiple Task Information box (these changes effect only filtered tasks
even when an entire column is selected).
