SUMMARY

In Microsoft Project, when you are in the Gantt Chart view and you drag a
Gantt bar for a task that does not have an actual start date, the bar will
not be redrawn if the Calculation option is set to manual. However, the
bars will be redrawn when you recalculate the project.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior in Microsoft Project 3.0
----------------------------------------------------
 
1. From the Options menu, choose Calculation, select Manual, and choose OK.
 
2. On a Gantt Chart, enter a task.
 
3. Use the mouse pointer to drag the task to a new date.
 
The task won't move.
 
4. From the Options menu, choose Calculate Now.
 
The task is redrawn.
 
5. Enter 10% complete on the task.
 
6. Use the mouse pointer to drag the task to a new date.
 
The task will now move without calculating.
