SYMPTOMS
========

Microsoft Project for Windows will print Gantt bar end shapes
incorrectly when you are using the Compaq Pagemarq printer driver
(COMPAQPS.DRV) set at 800 dots per inch (dpi). The shapes will have a
jagged appearance and the shapes will be a solid fill even though the
shape type is set to framed or dashed. Also, any shape that has white
space in it will be filled with a solid fill.

WORKAROUND
==========

To have Microsoft Project print the Gantt bar shapes correctly, do the
following to set the printer's resolution to 400 or 300 dpi:

1. From the File menu, choose Print Setup.

2. Select the Compaq Pagemarq printer, and choose the Setup button.

3. From the printer setup dialog box, choose the Options button. From the
   Options dialog box, choose the Advanced button.

4. In the Advanced dialog box, change the resolution to 400 or 300 dpi.

5. Choose OK in all the dialog boxes until you are back into your project.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the
beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Project for
Windows version 4.0.
