SYMPTOMS
========

When you use the key combination CTRL+W to copy information from Bookshelf
1994 to Word for Windows, you may receive one of the following
error messages:

   WordBasic Error #124

            or

   WordBasic Error #556

This problem occurs if one or all of the following conditions exist:

 - You do not have the BSHELF94.DOT template in your Word for Windows
   STARTUP subdirectory.

 - The BOOKSHLF.DLL file (located in your Windows SYSTEM subdirectory)
   is either missing or outdated.

 - Bookshelf is integrated with Word, and the CD-ROM is not in the CD
   player.

RESOLUTION
==========

To correct this problem, do the following:

1. Check to see if the BSHELF94.DOT template file is present in the
   STARTUP subdirectory under your Word for Windows directory. If it is
   not, copy it from the Bookshelf 1994 CD into the STARTUP directory.
   (For more information about copying files, see your Windows printed
   documentation or online Help.)

2. Check to see if the BOOKSHLF.DLL file is present in your Windows
   SYSTEM subdirectory. If it is there, compare its date and file size
   to the BOOKSHLF.DLL file on the Bookshelf 1994 CD to make sure they
   are the same. If the date and/or file size is different, copy the
   file from the Bookshelf 1994 CD to your Windows SYSTEM subdirectory.
   Also, delete any copy of BOOKSHLF.DLL in the Windows directory.

3. Make sure the CD-ROM is in the CD player.
