SUMMARY
=======

This article contains information about how you can select the correct
check type to print your checks properly in Microsoft Money.

MORE INFORMATION
================

The first time you print checks, Money compares the check type selected
with the printer specified in Print Setup. If your check type and printer
type do not match (for example, if you use standard as the check type while
you print to a laser printer), you receive one of the following messages in
the Select Check Type dialog box.

If you are running Money 4.0 for Windows 95, you receive the following
message:

   What type of checks will you print?

If you are running Money version 2.0, 2.0a, or 3.0, you receive the
following message:

   Before printing, please make sure the correct check type is
   selected below.

Although the Select Check Type dialog box displays the standard check type
by default, you can select any of Money's check types from this dialog box.

NOTE: After you print checks for the first time, Money will no longer
prompt you with this dialog box.

The following are the different check types available for each type of
printer.

Dot Matrix                Laser/Ink Jets
----------                --------------

Wallet                    Laser Wallet
Standard (default) Laser Standard (default for Money 4.0)
Voucher                   Laser Voucher

To change the check type in Money
---------------------------------

1. On the File menu, click Print Setup.

2. In the Print Setup dialog box, click Check Printing.

3. In the Check Type box, choose the correct check type. Click OK.

Note: When printing Partial Sheets or Single Checks with HPLJ Printers, try
printing one check at a time using the Envelope Tray w/Center Feed Options
if the Manual Tray is not available or will not print a partial sheet of
laser checks correctly.
