SYMPTOMS
========

If you are using the HP-GL/2 Plotter driver (HPGL2RTL.DRV) versions 1.2, or
1.3, and you are plotting to a pen plotter, extra lines may be drawn in the
Major and Minor Timescale area as well as in the Legend and Footer areas of
your document.

WORKAROUNDS
===========

If the plotter is Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language (HPGL) compatible, use
the HP-GL plotter driver version 2.3 (HPPLOT.DRV), that comes with Windows
version 3.1; this driver does not exhibit the behavior mentioned above.

NOTE: Version 1.1 of the HP-GL/2 plotter driver can also be used to
eliminate the extra lines. This driver is no longer available from Hewlett-
Packard.

STATUS
======

This problem does not occur in the HP-GL/2 Plotter driver version 1.4.
