SUMMARY

Although it is possible to color text gray on the screen in many
applications, the Hewlett-Packard (HP) PaintJet and PaintJet XL drivers
that ship with Windows 3.1 cannot print gray TrueType text. To get gray
text, you can use the WordArt tool.

WordArt, which converts text you type into a graphic, is shipped with
Microsoft Word for Windows, Microsoft Publisher, and other Microsoft
applications. In WordArt, you can set the color of the WordArt graphic to
gray.
 
To run WordArt from a Microsoft application:
 
1. Choose Insert Object from the Edit menu, or choose Object from the
   Insert menu.
 
2. From the list of objects, choose Microsoft WordArt.
 
3. When you are finished working in WordArt, choose OK. The WordArt object
   then appears in your document.
