SYMPTOMS
========
 
If you open a Microsoft Word 5.5 for MS-DOS document in Word 6.0 for
MS-DOS, the line spacing may change.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
In Word 5.5 for MS-DOS, the default line spacing is 1 line or 12 points. In
Word 6.0 for MS-DOS, the default line spacing is Auto. Auto means Word will
use the line spacing of the largest font size on the line.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
To retain the line spacing of the Word 5.5 document, start Word 6.0 for
MS-DOS by typing "word /f" at the system prompt. To restore the Word 6.0
default settings, exit Word. Then restart Word by typing "word /z" at the
system prompt.
