SYMPTOMS
========

If you do not have enough disk space to save a file in Works 4.0, you
may receive the following error message:

   I/O error number -36

If there is not enough disk space to save a file, you should receive
the "Volume Full" error message instead.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Works
version 4.0 for the Macintosh. We are researching this problem and
will post new information here as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION
================

When you choose to save a file, Works checks to see if enough disk space is
available. Sometimes Works' assessment of the available space is
inaccurate. If there is almost enough space, Works may try to save the file
anyway. When this occurs, the "I/O error number -36" message appears. If
Works determines that there is not enough disk space and does not try to
save the file, the "Volume Full" message appears.
