SYMPTOMS
========

After you run the Grammatik grammar checker in a Word for MS-DOS document,
the following error message may occur, or your document may become damaged
(corrupted):

   GMK is unable to save <filename>.gmk

CAUSE
=====

This happens when you use Grammatik to check the grammar in a document that
contains a symbol you inserted from a TrueType font using the Symbol
command on the Insert menu. It does not happen if you insert the symbol
from a Printer font. Similarly, it does not happen if you insert the symbol
by pressing ALT plus the ASCII key code for the symbol on the numeric
keypad.

WORKAROUND
==========

A version of Grammatik that corrects this problem is available from
Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS).

MORE INFORMATION
================

If the "GMK is unable to save..." error message does not occur, when you
return to Word from Grammatik and reopen the document, Grammatik has
inserted three extra characters into your document in place of the inserted
TrueType symbol. This corrupts the file format of your document, and shifts
formatting and paragraphs.
