SYMPTOMS
========

If you print to a Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet 4 with the Lower Optional
500-sheet cassette, from Word for MS-DOS when Mixed is selected as the
paper source, the printer may pull all pages from bin 1 instead of pulling
only page 1 from bin 1 and all other pages from bin 2.

CAUSE
=====

This happen if the LaserJet 4 has the Multi-Purpose tray (MP Tray) set to
"First" instead of "Cass".

RESOLUTION
==========

Change the MP Tray setting to Cass on the printer when you are using the
Mixed paper feed setting in Word.

printer pulls paper from when you set the MP setting to Cass on a LaserJet
4 with the Lower Optional 500 sheet cassette:

   Paper source      Bin
   ------------      ----------

   Continuous Lower Optional 500 Sheet Cassette
   Bin 1 Paper Cassette (250 sheet)
   Bin 2 Lower Optional 500 Sheet Cassette
   Mixed First page from Paper Cassette remaining pages
