 - Microsoft Word for MS-DOS, version 6.0

SYMPTOMS
========

When you proof a Word for MS-DOS document, Grammatik may display the
following message before the grammar checking operation is complete:

   Checking Complete. Save changes to this document?

CAUSE
=====

Grammatik prematurely stops proofing if your document contains either the
".D." or ".L." strings. These strings are the Word codes for a linked
document and linked spreadsheet, respectively.

Your document may actually contain these codes, or it may inadvertently
contain one of these strings as part of a word or phrase. For example, if
your document contains "I.D.", Grammatik stops proofing.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for MS-DOS. We are
researching this problem and will post new information here in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND
==========

Before you run Grammatik to check the grammar in the document, change or
remove the ".L." or ".D." codes or the words that contain these strings.
After you run the grammar checker, you can add these strings back to your
document.
