SUMMARY
=======
If you attempt to create an edition file from a slide in PowerPoint
by choosing Create Publisher, nothing occurs. Normally, you should
receive a dialog box prompting you to name the edition file.
In Microsoft PowerPoint 3.0 for the Macintosh, a slide cannot be
published if the presentation was converted from Windows PowerPoint
3.0 without having first been saved on the Macintosh.

MORE INFORMATION
================
To resolve this issue, use the following steps:

1. Run PowerPoint 3.0 for the Macintosh.
2. From the File menu, choose Open and open the PowerPoint 3.0 for
   Windows document.
3. From the File menu, choose Save As.
4. Enter a new name for the file, and save the file to the Macintosh
   hard drive.
5. From the File menu, choose Close.
6. Reopen the file, and choose Slide Sorter from the View menu.
7. Select the slide to be published, and choose Create Publisher from the
   Edit menu.

After following these steps, you should be able to create an edition
file from PowerPoint 3.0 for the Macintosh.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in PowerPoint version 3.0 for
the Macintosh. This problem was corrected in PowerPoint version 4.0 for the
Macintosh.
