SYMPTOMS
========

Microsoft Works 4.0 for the Macintosh stops responding if all of the
following are true:

  - Information is copied from either the Spreadsheet or the Database.
  - An in-line object has been created and is selected in the Word
    Processor.
  - The Paste command is executed from the Edit menu or the keyboard.

MORE INFORMATION
================

To create an in-line object:

1. Open a Word Processor file and choose a drawing tool.

2. Make an object, a rectangle for example.

3. Click the object once, and choose In Line With Text from the Format
   menu.

RESOLUTION
==========

Copy the information from either the Spreadsheet or the Database and paste
the information into a Word Processor document. Copy the information from
the Word Processor document and then paste it on top of the in-line object.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works version 4.0 for the
Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new information
here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
