SUMMARY
=======
In PowerPoint, you can insert System 7.x sounds into your presentation. The
steps for this are not documented in the "Microsoft PowerPoint User's
Guide" or in the Help file.

HOW TO INSERT SOUNDS
====================
To insert sounds into your PowerPoint presentation, follow these
steps:

1. In PowerPoint 4.0, choose Movie from the Insert menu. In PowerPoint 3.0,
   choose Insert Movie from the Edit menu.
2. Select the sound that you would like to insert and choose Convert.
3. Type a name for the movie and click Save. PowerPoint converts the
   sound to a Quicktime Movie.
4. PowerPoint inserts the converted movie into the presentation.
5. In PowerPoint 4.0, choose Scale from the Draw menu, and select 200%.
   In PowerPoint 3.0, choose Scale from the Object menu, and select
   200%.

NOTE: The movie appears on the screen as a very small object with grab
handles. Because it is so small, it can be difficult to double-click it and
play it in Edit mode. If you lose track of where the object is, choose
Select All from the Edit menu. This allows you to see all grab handles and
locate the movie.

RECOMMENDATION: If you want to click the movie to play it during the Slide
Show rather than have it play upon the transition, you should place a
picture or icon on the movie object so that it is easy to identify and
click during the slide show.

MORE INFORMATION
================
Sounds or movies are played on a slide in the order that they are
inserted. If you want to change the order in which sounds are played,
choose Send Backward or Send Forward from the Draw (PowerPoint 4.0) or
Arrange (PowerPoint 3.0) menu. Sounds are played from back to front.
In PowerPoint 4.0, you have more control over the timing of objects playing
on a slide. By setting timings, you can control the order in which the
sounds are played.

To change the timing of a sound on a slide in PowerPoint 4.0:
1. Click the sound object on your slide to select it.
2. From the Tools menu, choose Play Settings.
3. Under Start Play, select When Transition Ends, Plus,
   and type the number of seconds of delay before the
   sound should start.
4. Click OK.

By setting different timings on each sound, you do not need to worry about
the order they are layered on the slide.
