SUMMARY

Although the system requirements for PowerPoint 4.0 state that a 386 or higher
microprocessor is required to run it, it is not necessary for Windows 3.1 to be
running in 386 enhanced mode to run PowerPoint. PowerPoint is capable of running
in standard mode. To do this, SHARE.EXE must be loaded before starting Windows.
To start Windows in standard mode, start Windows with the following command:
 
   win /s
