SUMMARY
=======

When you install PowerPoint 4.0 for Windows, the Setup program adds a
number of lines to the [Import] section of the ARTGALRY.INI file. The first
time you run Microsoft ClipArt Gallery after these lines are added, ClipArt
Gallery catalogs PowerPoint's ClipArt collections, and these lines are
deleted from ARTGALRY.INI.

NOTE: <DIRECTORY> varies depending on what type of installation of
PowerPoint you have. For a local installation of PowerPoint, the directory
is C:\POWERPNT\PCSFILES by default. For a local installation of Office, the
default directory is C:\MSOFFICE\CLIPART\PCSFILES. For a network
installation of PowerPoint or Office, the drive is the network location of
the .PCS files.

If you do a Typical or Minimum (Laptop) installation of PowerPoint, not all
of these categories are added.

When you install PowerPoint from a Network to run the Shared Applications
from the Network, or choose Run from CD-ROM during an Office CD-ROM setup,
the following line is added to the top of the [Import] section:

   Network=1

Without this line, the ClipArt Gallery deletes the *.idx and *.thm files
from the PCSFILES directory after reading that information into the
ARTGALRY.IDX and ARTGALRY.THM files of the user. Because these files are
shared by many users when run from a network, the files must not be
deleted. The Network=1 line prevents the system from trying.
