SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you start Word with "Quote of the Day" set to run at startup, or if
you try to run the Bookshelf features from Word, you may get an Error 556
and a message indicating you should call Microsoft Product Support.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
This error can occur for one of the following reasons:
 
 - The path to the Multimedia Viewer files is not in the PATH statement
   in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
 
 - The BOOKSHLF.DLL file in the <WINDOWS>\SYSTEM directory is old.
 
 - Multiple BOOKSHLF.DLL files exist on the computer's hard drive.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
 - Add the path to the Multimedia Viewer files to the PATH statement in
   the AUTOEXEC.BAT.
 
 - Upgrade the BOOKSHLF.DLL file to match with the correct version
   of Multimedia Word that is being used.
 
   This file is located on the Multimedia Word & Bookshelf CD-ROM in
   the following location (for both Multimedia and Video & Sound
   Editions):
 
      <WORD>\BOOKSHLF.DLL
 
 - Delete all copies of the BOOKSHLF.DLL file except the one located
   in the <WINDOWS>\SYSTEM directory.
