The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Windows NT Server version 3.5

The NetWare Conversion tool (NWCONV.EXE) that ships with Windows NT Server
version 3.5 facilitates the transfer of NetWare user and group accounts,
and directories and files from NetWare 2.x and 3.x file servers to
computers running Windows NT Server while preserving account information,
and directory and file security.

While the migration tool ships with Windows NT Server version 3.5, it
requires that the Windows NT Server you choose to accept the newly-migrated
users and groups be a domain controller. Windows NT Server configured as a
standalone server and Windows NT Workstation are not valid conversion
targets.

When you attempt to choose a Windows NT Server that is not a domain
controller the following STOP message appears

   STOP: xxxxx is not a Windows NT Server

where xxxxx is the machine name of the Windows NT Server computer chosen
for conversion.

NetWare is manufactured by Novell, Inc., a vendor independent of Microsoft;
we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's
performance or reliability.
