You can use the features of PowerPoint's different installation types to
install PowerPoint on your local drive and leave the shared applications on
the network. The shared applications include WordArt, Microsoft Graph, and
ClipArt Gallery.

To install PowerPoint on your local drive and shared applications on the
network, follow these steps:
 
1. Run an Administrative Setup of PowerPoint (SETUP /A) to a server.
 
2. When you are asked where you want to install the shared applications,
   choose a network location.
 
3. After Administrative Setup has completed successfully, run Setup from
   the shared PowerPoint directory and choose Workstation Setup.
 
4. After Workstation Setup has completed successfully, delete the SETUP.STF
   file in the workstation's local POWERPNT\SETUP subdirectory.
 
5. Run Setup from the shared PowerPoint directory again. This time
   choose Custom/Complete Setup.
 
6. Clear the check boxes next to the shared applications (such as MS Graph
   5.0 and ClipArt Gallery) you do not want to run from the network.
 
7. Allow Setup to run until it has successfully completed.
