 - Microsoft Project for Windows, version 4.0

SYMPTOMS
========

If you are using Microsoft Project and you remove the date separator in
Windows Control Panel (in the International dialog box), dates that are
formatted to include a time do not display minutes, as in the following
example:

   1/31/94 12

In addition, if you choose Options from the Tools menu, and you select the
Calendar tab, you will receive the following error message and you will not
be able to switch to another tab:

   Value not valid.

CAUSE
=====

This problem will occur if you remove the time separator in the
International dialog box (to activate this dialog box, double-click the
International icon in Windows Control panel).

NOTE: This behavior does not occur in Windows NT, because in Windows NT the
separator cannot be removed. Note also that this problem does not occur in
Microsoft Project 3.0 since version 3.0 does not access the control panel
settings for date and time information.

WORKAROUND
==========

1. In Windows Control Panel, double-click the International icon.

2. In the Time Format box, choose the Change button.

3. In the Separator box, type an appropriate separator character (for
   example, type ":" [without the quotation marks]), and choose OK.
