The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Works for Windows, versions 3.0, 3.0a, and 3.0b
 - Microsoft Works versions 4.0 and 4.5 for Windows 95

SUMMARY
=======

The Apple Power Macintosh computer has the capability of running
SoftWindows. SoftWindows is a program that emulates Microsoft Windows.
SoftWindows 1.0 emulates a very fast 286 processor and supports running
Microsoft Windows 3.1 in standard mode. SoftWindows 2.0 emulates a 486
processor and supports running Microsoft Windows 3.11 in enhanced mode.

Because the system requirements for Works for Windows version 3.0 are met
by the SoftWindows 2.0 program, you may be able to run this
program on a Power Macintosh. However, you cannot run Works version 4.0 for
Windows 95 because the program requires the Windows 95 operating system.

SoftWindows is not a supported configuration for any of the Microsoft
Windows applications and no guarantee can be made that they will run
successfully, regardless of whether the program requirements are met.
