The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, versions 4.0 and 4.0a
----------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

If you use Microsoft Works 4.0 or 4.0a on a Macintosh AV with an AV monitor
connected to it, and you attempt to use the Line Pattern, Fill Pattern, or
Line Width Draw tools, the system will stop responding (hang).

CAUSE
=====

Macintosh AV machines have a high density monitor port that has a 40-pin
connector that handles video, sound in and out, and ADB. With a monitor
connected to this port, you will not be able to use the drawing tools
mentioned above.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works versions 4.0 and
4.0a. This problem was corrected in Works version 4.0b.
