SYMPTOMS
========

Previously defined bookmarks may not be available after installing a newer
edition of TechNet.

RESOLUTION
==========

NOTE: The following instructions use the October '94 and November '94
TechNet CDs as an example.

1. Copy the TNET1094.BKM file to TNET1194.BKM. To do this, type the
   following commands at an MS-DOS command prompt:

      cd \technet
      copy tnet1094.bkm tnet1194.bkm

2. Edit the TNET1194.BKM file and change the reference of TNET1094.MVB to
   TNET1104.MVB. (Editing the TNET1194.BKM requires a binary file editor,
   such as Disk Editor from Norton Utilities. Do not use Microsoft Windows
   Notepad or Write to edit this file; doing so will corrupt the file.)

MORE INFORMATION
================

Installing a newer version of TechNet into a directory already containing
TechNet files is supposed to update the defined bookmarks so that they are
available in both editions of TechNet. In some cases, this updating process
is not successful even though the TechNet Setup displays the message
"Transferring bookmarks and annotations."
