If you try to install Works for the Macintosh 4.0a and Bookshelf '94 on a
Macintosh with less than 8 MB of physical RAM (random access memory), you
receive an error message stating that there is not enough memory to install
Works.
 
The Microsoft Works portion of the multimedia Works 4.0a and Bookshelf
'94 CD requires 8 MB of physical RAM to install. This is stated in the
requirements listing on the product box.
 
The Bookshelf portion installs and functions normally.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
This behavior has been changed in Works, multimedia edition, version 4.0b,
which installs on Macintoshes (68020 or greater) with 4 MB RAM or more.

The installation utility for Works, multimedia edition, version 4.0a
ignores simulated extra memory that has been created by using either
Virtual Memory or a product such as Ram Doubler (by Connectix).
