SYMPTOMS
========
 
If Microsoft Word is closed during an Insert Object operation into a FoxPro
general field, the Edit menu does not reset immediately to the correct set
of options.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
Wait several minutes. The Edit menu will eventually reset itself so that
only the Insert Object menu option is enabled.
 
STATUS
======
 
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
---------------------------
 
1. Browse a FoxPro database with a general field. Double-click the
   general field.
 
2. Choose Insert Object from the Edit menu. Select a Word document.
 
3. Close Word.
 
4. Observe the FoxPro Edit menu selections. The Cut, Copy, Clear, Edit
   Microsoft Word Document Object, and Convert to Static options
   are enabled. The only option which should be enabled is the Insert
   Object menu.
