 - Microsoft Office Professional & Bookshelf, version 4.3
---------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

There is no Daily Update option in the View menu in Microsoft Word.
There is no Copy To Word option in the Edit menu in Bookshelf.

RESOLUTION
==========

There are two resolutions to this problem, depending on whether or not you
have a pre-existing copy of Microsoft Word 6.0 or Bookshelf 1994 on your
machine.

- If you had a pre-existing copy of Microsoft Word 6.0 or Bookshelf 1994
  on your machine, uninstall the existing copy of Word and Bookshelf and
  run the new Setup from the CD. See Resolution 1.

- If NO pre-existing copy of Microsoft Word 6.0 or Bookshelf 1994 exists
  on your machine, manually integrate Word and Bookshelf. See Resolution
  2.

Resolution 1
------------

Integration sometimes fails if you had a pre-existing copy of Microsoft
Word 6.0 or Bookshelf 1994 on your machine. Uninstall the previous copies
of Word and Bookshelf:

1. If you have a previously installed version of Bookshelf 1994, insert
   the standalone Bookshelf CD and run the Setup program. Choose the
   Remove All option.

2. If you have a previously installed version of Microsoft Word 6.0,
   insert the previous Microsoft Word 6.0 or Office disk 1 and run the
   Setup program. Choose the Remove All option.

3. Insert the Microsoft Word and Bookshelf CD (or the Microsoft Office
   and Bookshelf disk 1), and run the Setup program.

4. Do not choose the Reinstall option.

5. Choose Complete, Custom, or Add/Remove option and continue.

6. If you choose Custom or Add/Remove:

    - Select Microsoft Word, then choose Change Option.

    - Verify that Microsoft Word is selected, then choose OK.

    - Select Microsoft Bookshelf, then choose Change Option.

    - Verify that the Microsoft Bookshelf Program and Integration With
      Microsoft Word check boxes are selected. Choose OK.

7. Choose Continue to finish the installation.

Resolution 2
------------

If NO pre-existing copy of Microsoft Word 6.0 or Bookshelf 1994 is
on your machine, manually integrate Word and Bookshelf as follows. The
following directions assume your hard disk drive is drive C, Bookshelf and
QuickShelf are installed in C:\BOOKS94, Windows is installed in C:\WINDOWS,
Microsoft Word 6.0 for Windows is installed in C:\WINWORD, and that your CD-
ROM drive is drive D. If any of these locations are different for your
installation, please use the appropriate locations when following these
directions.

1. Delete the following files from your hard drive, if they exist:

      BSHELF94.DOT
      BOOKSHLF.DLL
      BSWORD.HLP

   If you are using Microsoft Office Professional & Bookshelf, version
   4.3, delete the following files from your hard drive:

      BSWORD.DOT
      BOOKSHLF.DLL
      BSWORD.HLP

2. Copy D:\WORD\BOOKSHLF.DLL to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM. For more information
   about how to perform this task in Windows, see your Windows printed
   documentation or online Help.

3. Copy D:\WORD\BSWORD.HLP to C:\WINWORD.

4. Do one of the following:

   a. If you have the Microsoft Word and Bookshelf CD or the Microsoft
      Office and Bookshelf edition, copy D:\WORD\BSH.WLL to
      C:\WINWORD\STARTUP.

   b. If you have the standalone version of Bookshelf (that is, it is
      not the Microsoft Word and Bookshelf CD or the Microsoft Office
      and Bookshelf edition), see the Bookshelf README.TXT file. This
      document explains how to manually install the Word and Bookshelf
      1994 integration.

5. Use Notepad or any other text editor to add the following entries to
   the [Bookshelf] section of the WIN.INI file:

      [Bookshelf]
      integration=3
      LastQuote=1
      BSWordHelp=C:\WINWORD\BSWORD.HLP

6. Add the BSHELF94.DOT or BSWORD.DOT (if you are using Office
   Professional & Bookshelf, version 4.3) template to Word, as follows:

   a. From the File menu, choose Templates.

   b. Choose Add.

   c. Enter the path to the file. For example:

         c:\winword\startup\bshelf94.dot

         -or-

         c:\msoffice\winword\startup\bsword.dot

   d. Choose OK.

   e. Under Global Template and Add-In, make sure BSHELF94.DOT or
      BSWORD.DOT is selected.
