SYMPTOMS
========
 
If you try to open an Aldus Persuasion 2.1 presentation in PowerPoint 4.0
for the Power Macintosh, you may receive the following error message:
 
   Sorry, this file is not a PowerPoint presentation.
 
You may be able to open the same file using the standard Macintosh release
of PowerPoint 4.0.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
This problem occurs if you do not have the following items in your
Extensions folder:
 
   QuickTime
   QuickTime PowerPlug
 
STATUS
======
 
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
Install the QuickTime and QuickTime PowerPlug extensions from your System
CD-ROM or floppy disks and then restart your computer. The Persuasion
converter will work correctly.
 
NOTE: The Persuasion converter that ships with PowerPoint for the Macintosh
(that is, the non-Power Macintosh version) does not require the QuickTime
or QuickTime PowerPlug extensions.
