SYMPTOMS
========

If you run a slide show using manual advances, your screen saver will not
start. This will happen even if you leave a slide on screen without moving
your mouse for a very long time.

If you run a slide show using automatic or rehearsed timings, your screen
saver will start at its designated time.

CAUSE
=====

A Windows screen saver engages when there is no activity on the screen for
a designated period. When you use manual advance in a slide show, the
computer waits for your next mouse-click; the screen saver does not
consider the screen inactive at this time.

NOTE: This does not apply to battery-saving features of laptops. If your
laptop has a "powersaver" feature, your screen may go completely black or
completely white a certain number of minutes into a slide show. If you want
to disable the battery-saving feature on your laptop, please consult the
documentation for your laptop.
