SYMPTOMS
========
 
When using the Diamond SpeedStar PRO video driver at high resolutions
(800 x 600, 256 colors or greater), the place name may be displayed as
white with no name visible in the box.
 
The problem may also occur when selecting the Set Via, Set Start, and
Set End markers located on the Route menu.
 
NOTE: This does not occur in Road Atlas version 4.0.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
Workaround 1
------------
 
Install the standard VGA video driver provided with Microsoft Windows
version 3.1, Window for Workgroups version 3.1 and 3.11, or install
the SVGA256.DRV video display driver.

Windows printed documentation or online Help.
 
Workaround 2
------------
 
Install the latest video display driver provided by Diamond Computer
Systems, or select a lower resolution video display driver.

Steps to Reproduce Problem
--------------------------
 
1. From the Edit menu, choose Go To Place or press the F7 function key.
 
2. Type the name of a city, such as Missoula. Choose the Go To button.
 
3. The name of the city will be missing from the Place Name dialog box.
 
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with the SSPRO256.DRV driver
version 3.1 provided by Diamond Computer Systems.
