SYMPTOMS
========

In Microsoft Project, if you apply a Start No Earlier Than (SNET)
constraint as the second start constraint on a task, the constraint date
for the task is changed from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the start date, and the
task is scheduled to start a day later than expected.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior only occurs when you apply a SNET constraint after applying
another Start constraint to the task, such as Must Start On (MSO). This
problem also occurs if you apply a SNET constraint to a task twice.

This behavior occurs whether you use a form, sheet, or macro to apply
the SNET constraint to the task.

Note that this problem does not occur when you apply a SNET constraint
after applying an As Soon As Possible (ASAP) or As Late As Possible (ALAP)
constraint to the task. Because the default constraint on all new tasks is
ASAP, this problem does not occur if SNET is the first constraint that you
apply to a task. This problem also does not occur if you directly enter a
task start date which would cause a SNET contraint to be calculated.

WORKAROUNDS
===========

To work around this problem, use the Advanced tab in the Task Information
dialog box to set the constrain date for the task to the correct time. To
do this, use the following steps:

1. Select the task that has the incorrect constraint date.

2. From the Insert menu, choose Task Information. Select the Advanced
   tab.

3. Under Constrain Task, in the Date box, enter the correct date and
   time for the task. Choose OK.
