SYMPTOMS
========

In Microsoft Project, when you create a new project from a template
file, the values displayed in the Created and Revision Number fields
in the Project Statistics dialog box for the new project are
incorrect.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs because when you create a file from a template, the
statistics that are displayed in the Project Statistics dialog box are the
statistics for the template file, instead of the statistics for the file
that you created.

Note that most of the values displayed in the Project Statistics dialog box
are corrected when you save or print the file. However, the statistics that
are not updated, namely the Created field and the Revision Number field,
are not corrected when you save the file.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft
products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching
this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
